Hair Color remover help?

So I got the Loreal Effasol Color Remover and it says if your hair has 'light shades of tint from level 7 to 9' mix with water, but it says 'medium shades of tint from level 4 to 6' mix with developer. They didn't tell me which to use at the salon so I'm confused, I don't know what 'level' my hair is and I need this color gone. Help?
