I've heard from a few people that Asian girls shouldn't wear eyeliner as we already have smaller eyes and eyeliner just makes them look smaller. Is this true? I like to use eyeliner personally, I like heavier eyeliner looks and such but I don't want my eyes to look smaller, j already think they are much too small as it is. The workers at ulta said I shouldn't wear any as I'm Asian and it just won't look as good and it won't help with the eyes situations. Any opinions on this?

GIRL I GOT YOU! Another Asian sister hear. I looove thick cat eyes for my eye shape because it really lifts them and makes them appear bigger. I'm sorry, but you really can't take a ton of eyeliner tips from people who don't experiment on Asian eyes/mono lids a ton, not because they're bad at makeup, but because they have a lack of experience. If your don't line around your entire eye than it will look fine. I usually skin bottom lash mascara as that tends to make my eyes look smaller (because my bottom lashes are virtually nonexistent lol). You do you boo boo! The only way to know is to experiment :). Get a cheap liner and go crazy!

As a makeup artist, one of my favourite things was using winged liner on Asian eyes/mono lids!
I think it looks sassy and adorable!

I'm Asian, and I like to draw my eyeliner only on the outer third of my eye, usually a cat eye, just so it doesn't take up all my lid space (cause Asians don't have much of that either). I think it's fine if you wear eyeliner, just don't draw a thick, long line all the way across the eye as it makes it look condensed and small 😊

Usually when eyeliner makes your eyes appear smaller its because it's not all the way in the lashline! make sure you tightline your upper waterline so you don't have that gap.

Putting black eyeliner on the waterline does usually make them appear smaller. That much is true. You should instead put a nude color to brighten up the eyes and make them appear slightly larger. As for top though, I think a wing looks so flattering! I don't like super thick eyeliner personally because it covers the whole lid a lot of times, but you do you girl! If you like thick eyeliner or liner on waterline, go for it! It's your body and only your opinions truly matter (: Eyeliner personally makes me more confident so I don't think I could ever give it up (I'm not Asian, but I don't think I have huge eyes) Wear whatever makes you comfortable (:

Don't tight line, go slightly above the top lash line and slightly under the lower lash line. Tightlining looks terrible on me, but what I suggested looks great.

Jennifer, I don't tightline or waterline. It irritates my eyes too much throughout the day.
