I'm 13, almost 14, and I enjoy makeup. I don't wear it often cuz I don't like the "look". I wear simply lipgloss, blush, mascarra, and sometimes a little coverup or BB cream (depending on the occasion). I think it looks incomplete and that the colors arnt right for me. I know that cuz I'm so young, I shouldn't wear a ton of makeup, but that's not what I'm looking for. I don't like the colors I have, and I don't think they flatter me. I got everything at Sephora, and a person picked out the colors for me. please help!!

Go to any makeup counter and ask for samples. You might have to be willing to pay for them! But this way you will get to try out a lot of different makeup and colors without having to purchase the whole product incase you don't like it!

Simple pink lipsticks aren't harsh, as long as you don't over do eye makeup. it would be a great way to look alittle more put together without the cake look.

Laura I was thinking the same thing but that's a lil rude. Madison, since you have such an interest in makeup and your parents are all for it, next time don't let the concierge choose what YOU want. But you should probably stick to neutral and natural looking tones so you won't look too grown.

You are getting older and it's perfectly fine to start wearing a little makeup; however, not to hide your facial features, but to bring out the great ones you already have :) Natural beauty is best, that way it's nothing too harsh, we aren't going for perfect barbie makeup here. Since you are young you want to start off as light as possible. First start off by applying a good moisturizer on your face to keep the skin healthy and smooth. Like rinsing your hair before you get into the pool, you don't want all the chlorine to absorb into your hair and damage it. We apply moisturizer so it'll be the first thing that touches our skin! Remember that some makeup has chemicals that can discolor our skin and even cause wrinkles, priming your face with moisturizer should help prevent that. Then you can choose a concealer stick to cover any minor uneven areas (such as under eyes) and blend that in, followed by a single layer of BBcream. A drugstore BBcream I suggest is Garnier's. Now afterwards just set it all with a powder to have it stay all day and finish off the look. Bare&Minerals face powder is a great choice because it is free of all chemicals unlike like many other makeup brands, so it is healthier for your skin, it also has SPF to protect your skin from sun damage! ESPECIALLY when you are young, you want to invest in good quality products that don't damage your skin, because the skin you have NOW is the foundation of how it will be when you are older. :) If you want to add eyeshadows, I suggest going with neutral colors such as browns or bronze/gold- bronze or gold shadows add a bit more color but at the same time they are neutral so you aren't going too far. For a natural flushed cheek, I like using cream blushes, they're sheer but add a bit of color and glow for a healthy and natural look. Instead of lipgloss or lipstick, you can go for a lip tint. Baby lips are great, they're both a lipbalm and lip tint! They come in a variety of shades which are very sheer, so it will give you just the right amount of color and shine without going too bold. You can also maybe add a champagne shadow over your lids too add a bit of brightness to them and pair it with eyeliner or mascara to define your eyes. Go with simple makeup, don't try to cover up everything, showing some of the things we think are "imperfections" is actually what makes us beautiful :) It makes us unique! Makeup is art and art is never perfect but that what makes it great!

Have fun experimenting, hope I helped some <3 xo Anh @ (youtube.com/stantonfashionclub)

I'm 13 and I wear mascara and some foundation under my eyes, so I don't look tired! If you have blue eyes, try lighter whites and golds, brown eyes, greens and vibrant neutrals (:

I don't think you can say: 13-14 year olds can wear this and this, but not that and that, it all depends on you! If a 13 year old has acne and want to cover it with foundation, then she should do it, or if she has tiny lashes and want some lengthening mascara, then she should! Just don't cake your face with makeup:) my advice would be that you should wear neutral colours, and not too much, everything with moderation!

When I was 13 I would wear eyeliner, macara, and concealer. But that was also because I was a lazy bum who only spent 30 minutes getting ready.. just do whatever you and your parents are comfortable with! :) if you want a neutral eyeshadow palette I don't see the problem with it. or even if you want brighter colors. it's your face, you should be able to put whatever you want on it! :)

Try natural colors, like soft browns. e.l.f.products would be great for you. When I'm thinking of doing something natural I just put a little foundation on, (I suggest concealer or BB cream for you) I do my eyes with 3 different brown shadows, all by e.l.f., then I put on some brown eyeliner and some light mascara, then finish the look with some lipgloss. If you would like to see a photo of the look let me know! Hope this helps.

I would say stick to the basics. Don't over do it please because it just looks funky when a young girl gets crazy with makeup. Probably curl your lashes a bit for fuller eyes and use neutral shadows to brighten up a bit. I have a really pretty pigment from Mac that's called Vanilla. It's like a pearl color. It's white with little bit of gold and pink. I maybe a light natural looking blush too. Something like that is cute :)

Very natural and minimal makeup is best for this age. I personally didn't wear it at this age nor would I allow my children to until they are 16. But hey if it makes you happy it makes you happy. To each is his (or her) own.

I'm 14 and almost 15 and I usually wear face powder or bb cream with light eyeliner and mascara and lip gloss. For special occasions I would wear more.

I think that your age would be good to wear some mascara, kohl eyeliner, lipgloss/lipsticks that aren't nude yet aren't so dark, and a light blush.:) no need for the eyeshadows or foundations or so on. Keep it simple, you're still young.:) I do that since I'm 14 almost 15 so yeah. I'm waiting until 16 to wear full makeup.:D also, why not try drugstore makeup? Just go on with them, they are less expensive and their products are still amazing.:)
