This weekend, my friend was looking trough my makeup bag and insisted to do her makeup. She was pretty content with her makeup, she hates how her eyebrows look when they are filled inn and for some reason she liked the way I did it.. I'm thinking maybe I have a chance in the makeup industry; I worked on different face structures.. But I have no clue how to get startes.. Help please?:)

Well Sephora looks for retail experience mostly. They train you for makeup application and whatnot if you get a job. I've heard that its good to dress in their uniform colors when you go in to apply (black with a touch of red I believe.) And be wearing makeup, obviously, a relatively full face with shadow, foundation, blush and lipstick. I would also go for a free-standing store versus one inside JCPenney. I'm trying to get a job at the one inside JCP by me and it hasn't been easy at all. The store is so small they don't really need too many people if everyone is working their scheduled hours. Other than those few tips I don't think I know of anything else that would help seeing as I'm struggling to get a job there myself. But I wouldn't limit yourself to just Sephora. Try a counter at Macy's or Boscoff's or any other department store. You may or may not have better lucky but if you can land a job at one of them you'll get experience as a cosmetic sales advisor which will look good and may increase your chances of getting that Sephora job down the road. Most counters usually don't require you know much about makeup at all so if you know things already you'll probably be ahead of the game. I hope this helped you at least a little. Good luck :)

Retail experience for sure. I know a guy friend who went and worked for sephora during Xmas season and they continue to keep him after the holidays. And he didn't know much about makeup previously.
