Changing Foundation Colour?

I recently bought the maybelline fit me foundation and found my match from the testers in the shop. it matched me perfectly in the shop so I decided to buy a bottle. when I applied it yesterday it looked horrendous in natural lighting. was browner then what it looked when I tried the tester in the shop ( I blame the shops lighting). any way I can tone it down a bit to make it match as the shop refused to take it back because id opened it?
