The only lifter without product is the sun. That's why a lot of people's hair lightens so much in the summer. If you want to match your roots you're better off coloring just once as close to your natural as possible so you don't have such obvious roots.

Oh your natural is lighter. Got it. Highlights are all you can do I'm afraid. Nothing lifts color but bleach.

Search on youtube for a natural hair lightener by andreaschoice. I think she uses honey and coconut oil (it makes your hair look amazing, its non damaging, super cheap, and the honey contains small amounts of natural bleach so itll slowly lighten your hair if you use it twice a week)

Warm up some honey and lemon juice and put it on your hair 30 min before you wash it. It also makes it really soft!

Lemon juice is VERY drying on the hair...I've used it before but not enough to lighten my hair. My best bet would be to mix lemon juice and chamomile tea together (because it also lightens hair but will tone down the dryness of the lemon juice), put it on your hair, and sit out in the sun until it dries. Then, of course, wash it off unless sticky, tangled hair is your thing. :)

But be careful! The lemon lighteners can produce results that are lighter than what you expect, so take care when using it

I would try the John Frieda stuff lightening spray. I used sun in when I was about 10 because my cousin used it. My hair was very brassy. I swear I looked like an orangutan!!! Lol. The same thing happened to my mom and my cousin. All of us had black virgin hair at the time that we used it. I tried using lemon juice, and it didnt work. So I ended up buying blonde hair dye which turned my hair brown lighter than Eva Mendez's hair in the new pantene commercial. Hair dye does damage hair, but any time hair is lightened, it gets slightly weaker since pigment is getting stripped. I dye my hair every 4-5 Weeks, I deep condition and minimize heat styling. I have healthy hair.

I've hear that using peroxide is good but beware it may damage your hair!

I won't try lemon then, does stripping damage hair because I've had it done twice and don't want to have it done again incase it damages my hair:/ peroxide good?

The goldwell color remover doesnt damage the hair it only pulls out the pigments that u put in there"the die u put on your hair will be the only color that comes out" it leaves behind your natural pigments/color have a stylist use it. It takes a few applications but will work just fine
