Does not work for me
It is a good foundation with wonderful coverage, and I got it because a sales girl told me it would work with my dry skin... but if you have dry, dehydrated skin, like me, it will probably not work for you. I find it makes me even more dry and gives me terrible cake-face. I still wear it for stage makeup (I am a dancer), and it tends to hold well under the lights, and I find it works quite well for photos, if the built in flash is not used. If you have dry skin and still want this, be aware that it is not going to be a dewy/natural finish on you, but super matte. Wear TONS of moisturizer under it, or add a little bit of mineral oil to it. I add argan or jojoba oil to mine when I use it.
I am over 40 and have combination skin. This foundation went on nicely but looked heavy in about half an hour. I settles into fine lines and actually seems to age the skin. It is buildable and photographs well as long as it is NOT HD or close up. I never wear it during the day for this reason, and feel it is a poor quality that does not measure up to the price. I have been happy with other products from this line.
I LOVE this foundation!!! I've tried almost every foundation out there and nothing beats this from the finish to the way their colors perfectly match your skin. I buy a darker shade when I tan and just blend 2 colors together to get the shade that I want but it's absolutely flawless. I like MAC also but this foundation gives you the coverage without the cakey feel. It's also build able. Works best if face is moisturized and better finish if blender brush is used.
Nice HD Foundation EVER!
Okay, this is the very first foundation that I have.
I got it from my mom for my graduation make up and this is like the 1st foundation that I used for learning make up by myself.
I know about this product after I watched Kim K make up tutorial and she recommended this and she always look gorgeous so I thought it will be the same on me too.
Okay, so I'm using this when I was totally a newbie in make up world.
My skin is combo oily to oily. When I used this, at that time, I don't have proper skin care routine, I don't exfoliate my face too much (because I don't understand how to do it, I was very young), and black heads-white heads like everywhere.
I applied this with my bare hands. Well, this is sure looks so gorgeous in pictures. It covers everything. Moles, acnes, pores on pictures. But if u look at me barely with ur eyes, u'll notice oil and shine on my nose and all over my face. And some acnes, blackheads, pores.
But really, ur photo will say that u have THE MOST GORGEOUS SKIN in THE WORLD. It's really photographed well.
But, anyway, if u want a picture perfect, this is good, but it feels not comfortable at all. I don't know, probably if u have great skin, this will just disappear onto ur skin like a second skin. But, many people like and recommend this and sometimes I thinking about try to use this one again.
Compared to ELDW, MAC Studio Sculpt, and NARS sheer glow, this photographed the best! But not looking so good in reality.
This is the foundation I turn to for special events. Its full and even coverage gives me exactly the boost I need on the occasions when I want to look nicer than usual. I've noticed that it covers well enough that I don't even need concealer along with it. The only reason I didn't give this product the full 5 stars is that I feel as though its a little hard to gauge exactly how much product you need to use, sometimes I'll think the foundation has blended in perfectly but once I take a closer look in the mirror I notice that there are certain areas that appear to be "caked on" even once I've used a primer and blended it away.
Stay with this. Forever. Till death do yall part.
This foundation is so so so great. I searched for a good foundation that will dominate my oily t-zone for so long. This one was definitely a winner. It's so silky and has great coverage, I can't even tell it's on my face. It last long too and blends well. It's lovely. Buy it.
Return to Sender.
Make Up For Ever Claims: The MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Complexion products use innovative formulas to create a new generation of make up which is both invisible on HD cameras and to the naked eye. The HD Foundation is an oil-free medium-to-full coverage liquid foundation which covers skin imperfections, while remaining invisible on-screen and in real life. Its extremely fine texture is supple and easy to apply. Enriched with moisturizing agents, it leaves the skin soft and radiant. It is available in a wide range of shades to suit all skin tones. When I first walked into Sephora I practically ran to the Make Up For Ever section of the store. I wasn't sure what color I would be but I knew I was going to be around the medium range of the foundation. I was promptly matched by one of Sephora's sales associates. She was truly a doll and helped me out with this product. The one thing she didn't mention is that this product has no type of oil control or mattifying properties. The thing is I have oily skin, and this foundation can't battle my dangerous t-zone.
In store the associate applied the product with a sponge, which I am personally not a big fan of, since sponges harbor bacteria and soak up most of the product. Once she was done applying it on my whole face I was really satisfied. It truly looked like I wasn't wearing any make up. The sales associate decided to set it with the Make Up For Ever HD Powder. Once it was set with powder, the appearance of make up was more noticeable. I was truly happy with the end results and was sure this was going to be my Holy Grail Foundation. The associate offered me a sample so I decided to try it out and buy it if I liked the results.
I am truly happy that the associate offered me a sample of this product. If she hasn't offered the sample, I would have bought the foundation and returned it the very next day. The foundation started melting off my face once I stepped outside my home the next day. I applied it with M.A.C's 188 brush, and I apply almost everything with this brush. My t-zone looked super oily and very unflattering. I really wanted to love this foundation.
Pros: Blends Well Good Color Match
Cons: Low Coverage No Oil Control Doesn't Last Long
