Beauty Product Reviews

My HG product, so far

Love love love this serum. I'm a pretty hard sell when it comes to skincare, especially when it costs a decent hunk of $$. But I shell out the dough because I love this serum. It's lightweight with a consistency that is similar to a tinted moisturizer. Smells lovely and sweet (not like a synthetic fragrance smell) and absorbs into my dry-to-normal skin so well. I use this after washing my face with the Plantscription cleanser (which is also incredibly AWESOME btw). I honestly believe that it helps with wrinkles. Big cheeks combined with a crooked smile has led to the development of a particularly noticeable wrinkle on the left side of my mouth (smile lines, anyone?). After months of using this product on it, I noticed it decreased in visibility. So, either my vision is deteriorating, or this product is reversing the ravages of time on my silly smile line. I'd like to believe in the latter.

One of my favorite products from Origins

I have dry-to-normal skin. I used Starting Over for about half a year before switching to Plantscription (which works way better than this product for eliminating wrinkles). But, even without a great wrinkle-fighting formula, this moisturizer is the bomb-dot-com. The thick, smooth cream goes on so well on my skin (especially after using Origins' Checks and Balances frothy face wash) and it smells amazing! Not too sure about the validity of their claims of improving visible lines (aka wrinkles), but I would say it definitely helps with skin texture. If I didn't switch to their Plantscription line of skin care, I would go back to this product in a heartbeat. My biggest gripe with this product is that they put it in a jar! I'm not a huge fan of dunking/dipping/scooping with my fingers into a container to put product on my face.

Smudges easily, creamy formula, not long lasting by itself

I'm a huge Origins skincare fan, so I thought I would try out some of their makeup. I bought this eyeliner in Jet (which is their black color). I have sensitive, dry eyes that get irritated very easily when I'm wearing contacts (which is the majority of the day time). I was looking for an eyeliner to line my waterline and stay put (without burning my eyes)! This was not the product for me, but it may be perfect for other peoples' purposes. Let's start out with the Pros first.

Pros: - Creamy - An unoffensive, more natural black (not strongly pigmented) - Comes with a firm, foam smudger on the other end - Good on my sensitive eyes, it's not irritating at all - Automatic pencil dispenser (no need for sharpeners and no wood shavings! :) )

Cons: - Smudges a bit too easily - Not long lasting (by itself) - Flimsy plastic cap covering the eyeliner end - Value ($17USD at the time of this review)

Overall, I would not purchase this eyeliner again. Not to knock on the product itself, I think they did a great job in creating a good-for-sensitive-eyes formula, but I generally prefer eyeliners that are more striking, pigmented, and a darker black. I originally bought this eyeliner to line my sensitive waterline, but this eyeliner does NOT want to stay put there. This eyeliner really reminded me (both the packaging and the product) of Clinique's black Quickliner, which may not be too surprising as Origins and Clinique are two brands owned by Estée Lauder. So, if you like Clinique's then you'll probably like this one as well!
