Chikuhodo PS-6 is now my ALL TIME FAV LLL HOLY GRAIL!!!
I admit I have an obsession when it comes to any type of LLL (lower lash line) brushes--pencil, smudging, push liner, etc. & have bought way more than any sane person should. ;) The closest thing in my collection 2 the PS-6 is my Goss 8--refer to pic--(which I already loved & reviewed), but after receiving the PS-6--it has taken over the position as my #1 HG & is def now my new all time FAVl!!! Both brushes r tiny which is perfect 4 getting right at the lash line (upper & lower), but the main difference is that the bristles on the PS-6 r slightly longer than the Goss which makes it perform much easier & better!! 2 me it's perfect b/c the longer bristles r firm enough 2 do the job right while still maintaining it's amazing softness factor--making it perfect all the way round! I also love that the PS-6 has a flat tip; whereas, the Goss has a dip-curve in the middle. I've used the PS-6 with gel liner, pencil, & shadow. I personally prefer 2 wear shadow & pencils (simply a personal preference) but this brush excels with all the above. I honestly can say I am DONE looking 4 a flat top brush like this b/c the PS-6 gives me the close perfect lash line I've sought after 4 so long! At first glance, this brush may look insignificant b/c of how small it is--but don't let that fool ya! Give this baby a try & u'll have the most perfect precise lash lines u ever dreamed of!!
If u want 2 b a blending pro--or at least look like u r--this brush is 4 U!!
I believe in honesty so here goes--this was 1 of those brushes that I would've simply passed over b/c it looked way 2 big 2 b of any benefit 2 my eyes. And I only ended up w/it b/c I chose 2 buy the entire Wayne Goss EYE SET--& thank God I did b/c otherwise I would've missed out on an INCREDIBLE brush! Played around w/it 2 see what it could do--afterall it came in the set-so why not? I was stunned 2 see how AMAZINGLY EASY this brush was 4 overall eye blending. Like Wayne says--u always need an extra blending brush that is CLEAN so u don't 'muddy the water'! And that's exactly what this brush is 4 me! Once I've applied all my eye colors--I grab this #16 & run it over my entire eye (lid 2 brow) back & forth just a few times--& I am left w/the most perfectly blended finish 2 my eye makeup! Whether ur a beginner (or pro)--this Goss 16 will make u look like a blending pro all in a matter of seconds! Don't make the mistake of overlooking this brush b/c it's so completely worth it!!
among my top 3 lid brushes
I can't say this brush is my absolute fav 4 packing color on the lid b/c I still grab my MAC 239 & MAC 242 as well. But I'm equally content in using any of the 3--so it is in my TOP 3 (4 the lid). The Goss 18 isn't 'just like' either of the MAC brushes tho--I'd actually place it right in the middle when comparing them. It's brush hairs r 'similar' in length, flexiblity, & even softness 2 that of the 242. Whereas, the 239 is shorter, more stiff & wider (when turned on its side). But when looking straight on (front view) at the brushes--the Goss is just a tiny smidgen wider than both MACs. However, it's shape at the very tip of the bristles is more rounded like the 239 while the 242 is a little more squared off. Overall, If MAC would've made another brush 2 fit right in between the 239 & 242, it would've been the Goss 18! It's as if MAC 4got 2 make that brush & Goss filled in the gap!
AWESOME!! Will b back 4 MORE!
I (like everyone else) always dried my brushes lying flat. And didn't see reason 2 change... until experiencing my new found love 4 Chikuhodo Z brushes! My mindset was--if I was going 2 shell out that kind of $$$ 4 brushes--u better believe I was going 2 take every precaution to give them the proper care they deserved! So in thinking I'd do this 4 Chikuhodo alone, I bought the smallest size 'tree'. However, I had NO idea I'd love this product so much that I'd b inclined 2 use it 4 ALL my brushes! So --YES!--I'll b placing an order soon b/c I'm gonna buy several more of these babies in all different sizes! I truly do love this product THAT much! Makes me look 4ward 2 cleaning my brushes--so easy plus it looks attractive alongside my vanity decor! :D
great 4 eyes but not my face
First off, keep in mind--I have DIFFICULT skin! Was so looking 4ward 2 this b/c heard so many rave reviews, but unfortunately this broke me out w/several clogged pores (hence my reduced star rating). As long as my skin stays happy w/what I put on it--I have no blemishes, but as soon as I apply something it doesn't like--will easily break out. However--on a more positive note, this worked amazing 4 eye makeup removal. Also, if u have trouble getting a crisp eye liner look--this works great 4 that! If u make any liner mistakes OR want a sharper 'wing' just run a pointed q-tip alongside it w/a little Bioderma & it cleans up exactly what u want it 2-- without messing up the rest of ur makeup b/c it *won't leave an oily residue.* So given these benefits when used around the eye--is why I've chosen 2 keep & use this. I'll just steer clear of using it on the rest of my face.
Not good for acne prone skin
I've given this 3 stars to cover the good & bad of this product. I can see why most people would love it b/c its very hydrating & feels wonderful when smoothing on skin. Also great as makeup remover. However, it did not work for me & I had to stop using it b/c it broke out my skin badly. I do have sensitive skin & have 2 b careful of what I put on it--so if ur acne-prone--u might want 2 use with caution. But if ur not prone to acne--u'll probably love it. HTH!
X-small brush guards
OMGosh!!! Absolutely LOVVVVVE these! I used 2 TIGHTLY wrap my brushes (have a ton of them) in thin paper towel pieces or tissue while drying so they'd hold their shape. Figured I'd get the same result if I bought the brush guards only cheaper! Well, finally caved this past week & bought 1 set of the X-small just 2 give it a try! Let me tell u--after using them only twice-- I can say these r WELLLLL worth the price!! So easy 2 slip over the brush & holds the shape FAR better than I ever imagined! These fit snugly but wonderfully over my W. Goss #6 & # 19 brushes, MAC 217 & 224s, NARS & Billy Bs--in other words--ALL the EYE brushes I've tried them with so far. They will also b great 2 protect my brushes when travelling. I will DEFINITELY be buying a whole lot more of these in ALL sizes--they truly make a huge difference--my brush heads honestly look better than when I first purchased them---not even kidding!! Also gotta mention how FABULOUS customer service & shipping is at Beautylish!! I ALWAYS receive my orders within 2-3 days of placing my order which makes me look 4ward 2 making purchases from them!! THX, Beautylish!!
Candlelight = Holy Grail!
I have oily skin so whenever I heard someone mention highlighter & 'glowing from within'--I literally cringed!! I thought I had too much "glow" already which I was constantly trying to get rid of by blotting & powdering away! To me, more glow meant more oil which meant greasy looking--yuk!! BUT...fast forward a bit--I saw a YouTube vid where a MUA was applying Kevyn Aucoin's Candlelight to a celebrity who felt the same way I did about glow; yet, she loved this highlighter claiming it was natural looking & NOT greasy looking. So finally, I decided to give Candlelight a try & fast foward to now---I love it!! I even later bought NARS Albatross (after falling in love with Candlelight) b/c I love NARS blushes. I 'like' Albatross but honestly I like KA Candlelight FAR better!! The Albatross is pretty but has a stronger golden look to it (obvious on my fair to light skin) whereas, KA's Candlelight looks more NATURAL. No glitter, no crazy high sheen, no bold over the top gold, but instead a natural sheen/glow that I have to admit is truly beautiful!! If anyone would've told me a long time ago that I would fall in love w/a highlighter--I would've called them crazy, but it's true--I love Candlelight!! Would def repurchase Candlelight---but that's the ONLY highlighter I can say that about! :D
Kevyn Aucoin's Sculping Powder = PERFECTION!!!
This is the ONLY contouring product I will use! I've had this about a year & love it!! It's not too red and not too orangey like all the other contour products & it's MATTE as well! NO shimmer here!! :D It's cooler toned than most; therefore, it looks like a true shadow--which is what a contour is supposed to look like!! Again--I'll say it--it's perfection!!! Holy Grail!! BTW--my skin coloring is Chanel 10 Beige/MUFE 117/MAC NC20. I love to use this with my BillyB #FOUR brush &/or NARS Ita brush!
Au revoir MAC 217!!!
Simply put--Goss 06 is PERFECTION!! If ur contemplating any of his brushes--believe me--U NEED/WANT this one!! I was late 2 the party in purchasing this brush only b/c I already own several MAC 217s & was content w/the results so I initially thought--why bother w/the #06??? Well--fast 4ward 2 now--I finally caved & bought 2 of these babies & I must say--I purposely overlook my 217s now & grab the Goss 06 without hesitation!! It's shaped much like the 217 --only better--it's slightly thinner (in comparing the brush head tips) causing it 2 fit more perfectly in2 my crease giving me perfect color placement of my eyeshadows every time!! And as we all now by now--of course Waynes brushes r much SOFTER!!! There's not much more I can say other than--I Holy Grail LOVE it & U will 2!! Don't wait like I did--get it NOW!! :D
