Beauty Product Reviews
all products I have wanted to try.
I was happy with my lucky bag, there were a number of products and brands I have wanted to try. I loved the Kevin Aucoin shadow duo, they are in beautiful shades. The Bliss body butter I have used in the past, received grapefruit and aloe. The scent is OK, but it reminds me a little of baby aspirin luckily it is subtle. I have been wanting to try Indie Lee and Wayne Goss brushes. I am hooked and will be certainly purchasing more WG brushes! I hadn't realized Nude Stix made mascara, perfectly happy to give it a go. The only item I wouldn't have purchased for myself is the Lit kit glitter, I think I will see what I can do with it, perhaps use it with nail polish. This was my first lucky bag and I'm not sure if I would buy another next year, but I liked it, especially the aspect of surprise.
Gonna give this a try
I am just discovering Lush products and am really loving their bath & shower lines, emtobombs for the shower are my favorites! Hour shower anyone? Recently, I have needed to begin using a powerful disinfectant at work and during the process have to disinfect myself...Everything is chapped, most painful are my lips and hands. I am using everything in my balm arsenal and with no luck and was getting ready to march out and get a perscription...I think I will give this a go first. Thanks for the review. Will update once I try it. <3
It's working, pleasantly surprised!
Wishing I could find my camera for this review, my lashes are longer. There is a measurable difference in length and volume, especially on my lower lashes. I haven't been using this long, less than two weeks, and I don't exactly know how it's working, yet, but I am thrilled with the results. I am having better results on my left eye, perhaps I am applying uneven coats. I have large areas on my lower lash line that have fine, short, baby lashes, looks like a bald area about the size of my finger-tip. On my left eye, the shorties have reached the length of my longer lashes. On my right eye they are not coming in as quickly, and I am now making sure I coat those. My lashes are fine and of average length, normally but they are lacking a great deal in volume. The upper lashes are longer and look fuller and much more healthy. I got a sample of this as a freebie with another purchase and now I'm sold.
My Signature Scent
I adore Dior fragrances, they seem made for me and all I have tried have worked wonderfully with my body chemistry, including the perfumes I don't like in the bottle. One thing I should note, is that I am a person with extreme sensitivities and can't wear patchouli. It is in so many fragrances that I am limited, I have had no problems with any Dior I have worn. This particular scent is my all-time favorite and I have been wearing it since it came on the market. I can best describe it as a soft oriental, a warm spiced-autumnal scent with a subtle sweetness. A musky spice, with vanilla and warm green notes, and a touch of sandalwood. It is warmth in a bottle. It is very sensual, when people hug me, hugs last longer when I wear this perfume. I truly adore this perfume. Thank you, Dior!
Big Disappointment, stars for the wand only.
First let me start by saying I have been a Benefit devotee for almost 20 years and have never really run into a bad product until now. The pros: The wand design is excellent and does exactly as advertized! It coats, fans out your lashes and basically creates the panorama effect on top and bottom lashes. The cons: the mascera. Very bad, I haven't run across this low quality in a long time and from Benefit never. It clumped, flaked everywhere and smuged into the crease of my eyelid and below (I don't wear mascera on my lower lashes) my lower lashes. But worse than that it was extremely drying. I wanted to give thia a fair try so I wore it for almost 10 days exclusively, I finally stopped after I noticed breakage on my lashes and splotchy dry patches on the skin at my upper lash line that caused some discomfort. I purchased this a month ago and it's going back asap. The quality of this mascara is not what I expect from Benefit. I am very disappointed.
Love the formula, loathe the applicator...
I have been wearing mascera for 30+ years and I have never had so much crap from an applicator. I have beaten it. The mascera itself is one of the best I have used. I decided not to repurchase this and picked up Bene's They're Real...Not happy with it, but am in love with the wand. I am going back to Fairy Drops and am starting a collection of better wands. The formula does exactly as advertised. Curls. Resitant to water, sweat and actually works as a sealer on top of other masceras that aren't, is conditioning (meaning- doesn't dry out my lashes) and comes off easily with soaps and water. I was really impressed by that, I just wipe away with a washcloth after sudsing and it leaves nothing behind. The color is more patent-black than black so there is some gloss to it. I get more compliments using L'Oreal Voluminous, but smuge city, I put Fairy Drops on top and it becomes sweat/water resistant too. I don't think I can live without this mascera...
Getting surprising wear from these. (happy dance)
I didn't expect that much from a polish at this price-point, but I have been disappointed by pricy polishes in the past, so I thought I'd try it. Not a big fan of NYC's other polishes but these were on sale and in the colors I was looking for. I was after a Navy shade and wasn't sure I'd like that either, so I wound up getting two- Lincoln Center and West Village. They do dry very quickly, I got the shade in the bottle in two coats, no problems streaking and 5 (YES 5) days later wear was just beginning to show. It wore back off the tips I had no chipping. I went back and got Flat Iron Green a week later and I am very happy with all three.
I use every color in this pallet.
I bought this pallet based on color alone, specifically the color Telepath. Usually when I buy pallets of any kind I really only use one or two colors and the rest remain relatively untouched. Not with this, I love them all. Like many of the reviewers, I do think some of the colors could be more pigmented- Moss, Charmer are disappointing, the look is too slight for me. V is a color I use a great deal but I would like it to be a little richer in pigment and am currently looking for a better alternative. It's a great color, tho. I am hoping Tarte will make a few colors available as singles, I will be very sad when these run out...
I will never be without this primer!
I haven't found an facial primer that I like, of those I have tried all felt too heavy and strangely plastic on my skin. But, this is completely different an unbelievably effective. I received a sample and tested it under extreme work conditions: heat, humidity, water, dust, dirt and dog hair. I was shocked this worked so well. In 8 hours my eye shadow doesn't even smudge. I'm currently working, mostly underwater, for a NP K-9 rescue and I do the grooming. I don't expect any make-up to last in these conditions but by the end of the day my eye make-up is intact. I should add that I do not wear any "water-proof" products, I wear cake liner and shadow, brow cake powder and mascara daily and this has improved all of them. This product is definitely staying in my make-up bag.
