Some Hits and Misses
This was my second Lucky Bag and my first one, 2017 Lucky Bag, had a Viseart eyeshadow palette so I wasn't sure that could be topped (even though I barely use the palette it was still a cool thing to get). I really liked three items and am excited to have those and they more than cover the cost of the bag so to me it was worth it. There's three products I'm keeping that I'm not as psyched about but I'll use them and two products I'm going to either give away or sell. One of the products I don't like, I don't like just because of the color I received and the other is a primer I can't use since it's for oily skin and I have incredibly dry skin. I know it would be a ton more work for Beautylish and probably isn't even doable but I think the Lucky Bags could be even more successful if they took into consideration the skin type of the person who's receiving it. I know that's probably too much to ask but if I'd received a primer from the same brand but for my skin type it would of been pretty much a home run and the fact that the primer is so expensive and adds a ton of value to mine is a bit disappointing. All in all still pretty good and I'll definitely be purchasing one for 2019 so I haven't been scared off yet!
Gorgeous Color But Formula Is A Little Drying
As with any liquid lipstick lip prep is super important but even with scrubbing and letting a balm sink in first I still found this to be a bit drying. I didn't think it would be since it contains beeswax but after about four or four and a half hours my lips started to feel pretty dry (but it was comfortable for the first four). The viscosity is pretty thick and too much comes off on the wand so you have to be careful applying and I would highly suggest using a lip liner if you're using a darker/bolder shade like I did so that you have an outline for guidance. I do like the shape of the doe foot though and found that helped with application. It's not my most favorite formula ever but the shade Screen Siren is the absolute most perfect shade of red imaginable so I will definitely be getting my use out of it.
It Does Work But...
I got this in this year's Lucky Bag and initially I liked it. However, I've had it now for almost five months and am almost completely out of product and I don't like it nearly as much anymore. It smells nice and it does clean my brushes pretty well but it is just so hard to rinse all the shampoo out of the brushes. It gets so far down into the brush hairs and will not rinse 100% out. Whenever I wash my brushes with it would think a brush was all rinsed out and I would start drying it on a towel and then it would se it start to foam up again and kept having to repeat the rinse and dry process. When my brushes dry, if the shampoo was not completely rinsed out, it makes them kind of crusty and then I have to rinse and let them dry all over again. Not my favorite brush cleaner, I would not repurchase, and I wouldn't recommend it.
Pretty but Pricey
I bought into the hype after seeing so many YTs go on and on about it. I do like it, however the darkest shade on the right side is really warm/dark for my fair/neutral skin tone. I've used it on my eyes a couple of times as well and it works pretty well for a soft bronzed eye look. I find the formula for the three shades on the right side of the palette to be quite powdery but it does still apply nicely. I absolutely LOVE the blush shade in here. It's a glowy peachy-pink that doesn't lean too far one way or the other. The top left "highlight" shade is waayyyyy to dark for me to use as a highlight but it looks nice on the eyelid. Overall I do like the palette but because of all the kickback I don't think the quality it's quite worth the money.
