Gives my lashes the extra boost.
My lashes are already long and thick to begin with, but when it comes to mascara I try to find mascaras that will define my lashes. I'm hesitant when it comes to mascaras that cost more than $20 so I was pretty happy when my friend purchased this mascara for my birthday. Not only does this mascara make my lashes look long and black but they flare out my lashes for more definition.
I'm not a big fan of the brush since it's still the old fashion bristles, which still tends to flake. Docking half a star for the price and another half for the bristles, but if the brushes turned plastic like Benefits and Buxom Lashes this mascara would be absolutely perfect.
Packaging Issues but Long Lasting
Due to the packaging, the bottle holds less primer than expected so the product quickly runs out. Also, the pump can also be a pain because a full pump, depending on your skin type make you appear shinier than you want, however the pump can sometimes work to just give you the full pump. Try little pumps at a time. Due to this, I'm already on my third bottle since this product has the habit of running out quickly due to the packaging.
Other than packaging issues, product lasts long and probably one of my favorites. I'd give it a higher score if the pump didn't act that way.
Quality different than NYX Single Shadows but still good.
I have two of these palettes: For Your Eyes Only: Smokey Eyes and 10-Color Eyeshadows: Velvet Rope Compared to a lot of palettes that are on the market right now, I believe that NYX Runway Palettes have the size and shape that make traveling a breeze. More selection than drugstore duos, trios, and quads but entirely smaller than Urban Decay and Too Faced palettes. Toss in the purse and don't worry about it. Also, the fact that the palette consists of 10-shadows for $11-13 is also a deal. As for the shadows, they are a hit-and-miss. Some shadows are soft, buttery, and a dream while others can be chalky and fall-out-city. Curiously enough, shadows that are in these palettes have consistencies entirely different from their single shadow counterparts. I can't really complain about this since I've noticed that the singles are not as soft as the ones in the palettes, but they're wayy more pigmented. NYX's Single Black shadow is completely different from a black found in a NYX Runway Palette. All in all a good affordable palettes for those to start off with.
What every girl looks for in pencil eyeliners
I'm impressed. Absolutely impressed. First of all, compared to Makeup Forever and Urban Decay pencil eyeliners, Milani's Liquif'eye liners are easily more black, pigmented, and glides on easier. However with all pencil eyeliners, there is a chance that this pencil will smudge, so I set the pencil with a black shadow anyway. Milani is also a drugstore brand so it will be cheaper than the Makeup Forever and Urban Decay eyeliners. Recommend all the way :)
Finally an eyeshadow primer that doesn't crease on me. Like Theresa, I received this product as a sample and immediately got hooked. Thicker in consistency compared to the UDPP and TFSI but feels light and creamy when applied. Docking one star because I'm not a big fan of the wand and it's a little bit more expensive than UDPP and TFSI. But it's just as good. ;)
This eyeliner is just as amazing as everybody makes it out to be. Application is very easy. The color pay off is so good that all you need to do is dip your brush in the product and it can easily do one eye. Do the same for the other. This product also doesn't easily budge under heat so I was able to get six good hours of wear with this baby. Totally worth the $12.
Disappointed and some colors have a satin finish
When I saw that my package came in the mail, the first thing I said after opening my palette, I saw shimmer/satin finishes. This palette is called the 88 Color MATTE Palette. Frost/Satin finishes aren't supposed to be there. I immediately called my friend who has the palette as well and she said that her MATTE palette has the same issue. Also, compared with a lot of 88 Palette reviews and especially those of the BH Cosmetics company alone, I expected these colors to be well pigmented. I had to rub my brush into the product to get any well paid color on the brush. For the eyes, I would recommend using a base color.
But for $20, the price is good and there is 88 colors. The colors appear as if they're in a gradient, but some colors just show up awkwardly in their row and would look a lot better in another row.
Overall, if you want a variety of color in your palette plus save money, go for this palette. But you have to work with it for the desired affect.
All eight colors in this palette are beautiful, pigmented, and soft. You can easily tap your brush in the shadows and a lot of pigments are picked up. Blending is a breeze. However, the palette gets dusty very easily. My favorite color in this palette is Orbi, which is a satin dark navy green color. It's very hard to find an earthy toned green and this color is perfect. My other favorites are Downtown, Baroque, and Leather. Lucifer and Leather are the only matte colors in this palette, so they're nice for the outer v and crease colors. Plus you're not putting satin on frost and looking like a disco ball.
I opted for the Fit Me Pressed Powder after I read that the foundation counterpart slips off of combo/oily skin, which I unfortunately have. The shade I use is 320 - Honey Beige. I'm impressed by powder's oil control and medium/full coverage. My face looks matte and not too powdery/ashy. Docked off a star and half because while the design looks very nice, the compact feels big and clunky taking up half of my makeup bag. Wish the packing was more sleeker since half of the compact is empty space to hold a powder puff that is never used.
