Beauty Product Reviews | Page 2
My skin's chemistry went out of whack last year and at the end of the year my cleanser stopped working for me, and I needed a new cleanser. After seeing DulceCandy87 talk about this in her Favorites video, I decided to try it for myself. The small container I purchased is about $15 but a little goes a long way. Unlike other LUSH products, there wasn't an expiration label, so the LUSH attendant informed me that the shelf life should be around three months time .
After using this product for about a month, I've noticed my skin has cleared up A LOT, although it feels like an exfoliator (and can be used as one), it's good enough for everyday use. After your first use, you'll notice that your skin will feel a whole lot softer. The consistency of the product is dry and can be difficult to work with, but I've found a less messy way of applying this product to my face: rinse face with water, keeping hands wet open the container and a pinch of the product, using the remainder of moisture from the water on your hand mold the product into a paste that you can spread over your face.
Solved My Oily Lid Issue.
I've had issues with my oily lids and primers for the past couple of years now; UDPP, TFSI, and Laura Mercier Eye Basics Primer always creased on me and for the past several months I just stayed with my MAC Paintpot. But after reading that this primer is recommended for oily lids, I decided to give it a try. My right eye is the usually the one that creases after 4-6hrs of wear, but I've found that my eye makeup lasted way longer. Docking a star since the packaging reminds me of the flaws from the org UDPP. But other than that I'm especially please this product.
Disappointment
I was initially curious about this product, the packaging and the name sounded really interesting. But after I put it on for the first time, I simply yawned and this mascara started running down my face. Btw, there weren't any waterproof options available either. While it did make my lashes blacker and thicker, no length was achieved. The wand is good, but other than that if my eyes just water from a yawn, then imagine if I cried. Ugh. So disappointed.
looove looove looooove
I really enjoy using this palette and I continually go back to it. A variety of twelve shades; mostly with a shimmery/satin finish and three mattes. The matte black and dark brown aren't really intense, but can be built up and be worn for an everyday kind of smokey look. I've hit pan on the nude brown. All the other colors are insanely pigmented and blend beautifully.
Not 24hr but definitely long lasting
I have two of the Maybelline Color Tattoos in Edgy Emerald and Bold God and I'm very impressed by their longevity and pigmentation. I won't say 24hrs but since I have a long days at school, the Tattoos stay on my lids for about 10-12hrs.
Since Bold Gold has shimmers in it, it feels dry to the touch and needs some rubbing so it will glide easier on the lids. Also I've found this particular shade to have fall out. Weird! Other than that I think this is a great product .I don't know if I'll stop with my MAC paint pots but they're definitely a competitor.
Love the shades but the packaging is not so great.
I've been using this palette for the past several years and I keep going back to it.
For six colors they provide three matte colors and six shimmery/satin colors. they also divide the shadows up by three columns and rows. The first row can be used for an easy day look; the middle can be used for a classic look; and the last row can be used for a fashion looks. For the columns, the first is for highlighting; the second is for the lids; and the third is for the crease.
My favorite colors are Heaven, Push Up, and Velvet Revolver (I've hit on it). I'm not a big fan of the matte dark brown color, sexpresso, from the day row and nude beach from the Fashion row. Sexpresso is very hard to blend and Nude Beach is very chalky and gritty (similar to the texture of Urban Decay's Midnight Cowboy). Also, I'm not a big fan of the packaging since it's a bit thicker than other two faced palettes so it's a bit clunky. Other than those deltas, I enjoy this palette quite a bit.
Ever since the new formulation I've been in love with the product for years. I used to use it a year ago, but I've recently picked it up and fell back in love with it. It's so light it doesn't feel like I'm wearing foundation. Light to Medium coverage and very easy to blend. I can't seem to use this product with a brush since it's way easier to blend it out with my hands.
NW30: Great Product but not for big blemishes
I've been using this concealer for years! The product is a little thick, but I love it for my under eye bags and circles. I don't use this concealer when it comes to covering my blemishes BUT for little redness and such it does a really good job covering them up. Sometimes my concealer has the tendency to dry up a bit so I spray either Fix+ or I mix a bit of my eye cream/moisturizer in. But I've found similar to the MAC Paintpots, they stay relatively creamy storing them upside down.
This is MAGIC!
MAC's Cleanse Off Oil is definitely a product that I can't live without. I use this on my hands dry and rub onto my face, I can literally feel the makeup melt off. Dark mascaras and eyeliners come off without any problem at all. A word with caution, I agree with Simera, this product can make your eyes cloudy, so make sure the product around your eyes have been washed off well and your vision should be good.
These brushes are soft and they really are amazing. I LOVE the Crease brush and the Brow Brush but I wish the eyeliner and eyeshadow brush were better. The eyeliner brush is a pointed eyeliner brush and I feel that it gives a really thick line. I wish it was an angled eyeliner brush instead. Also, I feel the eyeshadow brush is very loose and fluffy, so I use it for a more blended lid color, it won't do much for packing the color on your lid. Aside from that, the texture of the brushes are really really amazing and I would definitely recommend them to people for their quality. :)
