Some companies will only give discounts to those working as a professional makeup artist, some will extended discounts to cosmetologists while others will offer to discounts to even beauty bloggers. Please check with the company for full details on their pro programs as some requirements have changed.

Most will require one or more of the following:

Business license (different from a professional license as it is a license proving you have an actual business - issued by the city and/or state you live in)
Professional license (example, a cosmetologist license - issued only by the state after you go to a trade school and then take a state exam)
Editorial page with name credit
Union card
Diploma/certificate from a recognized make-up academy
Program/press materials listing your name

Oh that's nothing. I have a list of companies that offer pro discounts but I'm still working on the requirements list and the discount amount. Some of the companies don't have the pro requirement info on their websites so I've e-mailed them asking for that info.

I did hear back from a Stila rep and here's what she wrote that I found to be amusing since MAC has the most lax credential verification.

"Please note that a MAC pro card is NOT a credential and will not be accepted."

LOL -- I think it's due to the fact that MAC is the EASIEST "pro" card to obtain. I also noticed that MAC is the only one you have to pay for - all other companies offer free pro cards.

Yeah that is true, i am shocked when i see some gurus on YT who have one and my jaw drops! i always say "if the only knew" HAHA cracks me up!

i had a mac pro card when i first started my buisness but i was so sick of the payment and i got what i needed when i first had the card although i might resign up. but i want the MUFE sooo bad! ill wait till im done with school haha
