If you want to get rid of gold/brassy tones, you need to use a color with a violet base. Put an ash toner over and it'll be really pretty :)

That is what happens when you bleach it, it reveals the underlying pigment in your hair. please don't put a box color over your already compromised hair, go to sallys and pick up a light golden brown color and a 20 volume developer!

You can but that box dye straight over it and it should go the right colour. Maybe use a toner first?

Go for a light brown as there is a hell of a lot less bleach. Not long ago I put an ash on my blonde hair and it went purple/grey so I went for a brown to cover it and its worked fine plus after a few washes the brown lightens so it will go golden.

Use a hair dye with a developer. Using a box dye over your bleached hair will damage it even more.

I agree with Megan, don't use box! Do what she suggested. Also I'd you are afraid of damage, after coloring your hair, after the part where you wash it out, apply a very good deep conditioner, like giovanni smooth or some organic coconut oil. Let that work for 10-15 min and wash out then put in some leave in condition or a little coconut oil, or whatever oil you prefer (like argan, etc) Then do a light shampoo and deep condition for the next week or until your hair feels better. Be sure to be very gentle.

Or you can dye over it with a dark ash blonde.

Something similar happened to me and my stylist said that and ash brown or any light brown color will just turn my hair into a greenish brown so I had to go with a dark brown : ( hope this helps.

I'm a Cosmetology student. I highly recommend not getting a box dye. I can almost guarantee you that it will not come out to the color you want it to be. Your best bet is to go to a salon to get it darker.

Go to Sally's and get a 7.3 for your roots and a 7.0 for your ends
I can't see the roots but I'm presuming there quite lighter than the rest so you need to use 7.3 there to make sure the colour don't go muddy
7.0 is just a neutral light mid brown and because your hair is orangey copper now the neutral will soften the colour
And
Only use 10 volume
20 volume is for lifting
10 vol is all you need to deposit colour
