“[Kevyn emerged] against the backdrop of all that ’80s glitz, all that glossy goop in fuchsia on the lips. In 1984, women were lining their eyes with blue pencil and coating their lashes with green mascara. Kevyn's gentle treatment… was positively outrageous at the time.”

“It was such a big deal for both of us. We worked together a lot after that. If I worked five days in a week, three or four of them were with Kevyn.”

From 1986 on, Kevyn was booked non-stop and created numerous
covers for Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Harper’s Bazaar, and more.

“My mission in life is to teach about beauty of the soul. that was really really what came through to me through this process of being a makeup artist and putting makeup on peoples' faces. but then learning how to dive into peopels' souls and interpret that on their face, and to see the expression on someone's face, to see that joy and to see them discover a part of themselves they never knew they had, simply because of the way i've done their makeup, its a wonderful wonderful blessing and it makes me feel good because i'm empowering women. my goal in life is to have women take over the world.”
